The Sea Devils participate in New England Swimming which is a Local Swimming Committee (LSC) of USA Swimming. USA Swimming is the National Governing Body for swimming in the United States. New England Swimming involves 5500 athletes and nearly 100 teams in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Vermont. New England Swimming's web site, www.neswim.com will have information about meets and much more. In order to participate you will need to complete the New England athlete registration form for the current year and pay a $32 fee. We also require an initial deposit of $50 and a completed meet calendar. We would like one check for $82 made payable to the Old Colony YMCA. Meet Accounts We require you to set up a meet account which will be used to cover your swimmers meet entry fees. We request a beginning balance of $50 for each swimmer (Checks payable to the Old Colony YMCA). Balances will be updated as meet entries are submitted. If your meet account has excess money after the meet entries are completed it will be refunded to you. FYI Most meets charge $3.50 per event and swimmers will be entered in at least 3 events per session. Meets Once a meet entry has been sent it is final and the entry fees cannot be refunded whether or not your child attends the meet, so when filling out the meet calendar, please make a note if you can only attend on a certain day otherwise you will be entered on all days of the meet. Meet entries are generally sent 6-8 weeks in advance so plan accordingly. If we do not get into a particular meet on the calendar we will try to find a replacement and you will be entered based on your original calendar. The coaches will be selecting the events that swimmers are entered in. Meet information will be posted on the bulletin board and handed out to each swimmer who is entered.
