TEAM MEMBERSHIP The Sea Devils welcome all interested swimmers between the ages of 6 and 18, regardless of ability. Team members are from Middleboro and various surrounding communities. Membership is open to all persons who desire to participate in competitive swimming, who meet the requirements established by the coaches, and who pay all fees as required by the Old Colony YMCA. Although the season generally kicks off in October, swimmers are welcome to sign up at any time during the year. The staff at the YMCA will help you determine the pro-rated cost of team membership. All Swimmers must be members of the YMCA, either through a Youth, Teen or Family Membership SWIMMER AND FAMILY COMMITMENT Swimmers are expected to show a degree of commitment by participation in all aspects of the team, including practice, meets, fundraising, etc. It is important to remember that the nature of the sport requires consistency and commitment to achieve a desired level at any age. The level of commitment grows as a swimmer progresses through the various levels. We solicit all families support both morally and physically, morally by your encouragement of swimmers at home and positive support of the coaching staff and physically by your presence and participation in our Parents Organization. This group of parents is one of the greatest assets to our team and is an essential part of swim meets and fundraising. We expect that all parents of swimmers will be active members of this Organization. The group holds monthly meetings to discuss issues (memos will be distributed to alert you of dates, times, etc.).
