The Sea Devils are members of the Eastern Massachusetts YMCA Swim League and of the New England Swimming LSC of United States Swimming. All members of the team are eligible to compete in YMCA meets, which will consist of invitational meets, dual meets and championship meets (if time standard achieved). In order to participate in NE swimming meets swimmers need to be registered members of United States Swimming. This is optional and requires payment of additional fees. YMCA Dual meets: there are approximately 7 scheduled dual meets a season, which are usually held on Saturday's beginning in December. All swimmers are expected to attend and stay on deck until the entire meet is over. In addition to the dual meets, the team hosts the Cranberry Invitational in which all swimmers are expected to participate. YMCA Championship Meets: (Eastern Mass Districts, New Englands, YWCA Nationals, YMCA Nationals) These meets all have qualifying standards which get progressively faster. If a swimmer qualifies, they will be expected to attend. USS Meets: Any swimmers wishing to participate will need to complete the registration form and pay the appropriate fee to NE Swimming. These meets are optional and swimmers are allowed to leave as they finish their events. Meets that we are attending will work around our YMCA schedule. Some will be a full weekend, Sat and Sun., some will be just Sun. USS Championship Meets: (USS Districts, Age Group Championships, Seniors, Jr. Nationals, and Senior Nationals) These meets all have qualifying standards, which get progressively faster. We will attend these meets provided they do no conflict with a YMCA meet. |
